Why we built this

Every treatment operation we talked to had some version of the same setup. Reorder dates were written in marker on a wall calendar. A shared spreadsheet was always a week out of date, so nobody trusted it. Someone called the office to ask, “Did anyone check the caustic tank today?” That works for a plant with one tank and one shift. It breaks down with several sites, many chemicals and a crew that rotates.

The math isn’t complicated. You need to know how fast the tank is draining, when it will have room for a full delivery, and how much to order. Worked out once a week on a sticky note, from whatever the last reading was, it gives bad answers. Two readings taken 33 hours apart give you 33 hours of use, and that rate is what tells you when a tank will run dry.

ChemLevel does that math every time a reading comes in, for every tank and cylinder at every site. It’s built for an operator standing next to the tank with gloves on, and it works just as well back in the office.

What we won’t compromise on

• The forecast counts real hours. Each forecast uses the real hours between readings, so a 6-hour gap and a 3-day gap are treated differently.
• Built for the floor first. If logging a reading takes longer than a paper form, people stop doing it. Every screen is designed for someone standing at a tank.
• Every number can be checked. Each recommended order quantity and “order by” date traces back to readings and a usage rate you can see.
• Chemical inventory is safety-critical. Running out of a disinfectant, or storing more of a hazardous acid than the site is rated for, is a safety and compliance problem. We build ChemLevel with that in mind.
