1. What it costs

• Starter: $79/mo for one plant. Unlimited users, chemicals and cylinder racks; reorder forecasting, vendor order emails, delivery logging, maintenance flagging and change history.
• Team: $129/mo per plant. Everything in Starter, plus budget and procurement tracking and lab inventory. Plants can be added at any time, at $129/mo each, however many a utility runs.
• Annual billing is ten months’ price for twelve: $790 a year for Starter, $1,290 a year per plant for Team.

Prices exclude sales tax, which is added where we are registered to collect it. The plans side by side are in the pricing section of the home page.

2. The trial

Fifteen days free when the organization is created, with no credit card. Nothing is charged automatically: at the end of the trial a plan is chosen, or access stops. Before any of that, the live demo (opens in a new tab) runs on sample data for a fictional two-site operator, with no account at all.

3. Paying by purchase order

Subscribing online after the trial takes a card, which suits most private operators. A city, district or authority that buys against a purchase order is set up differently: we invoice instead.

• The invoice is emailed when each period begins, payable in 30 days by check, ACH or card.
• A W-9 is available on request.
• Annual billing works the same way, for a department that would rather raise one purchase order a year than twelve.
• Ask before the trial ends, and the first invoice can be raised to match your purchase order rather than the other way round.
• An invoice still working its way through accounts payable does not lock anyone out: readings, orders and history keep working while it is paid.

4. Sales tax and exemption

Sales tax is shown before you pay rather than turning up on the invoice afterwards. If your entity is exempt, as a city, district or authority generally is, send us your exemption certificate and we apply it to your account: every invoice from then on shows no tax. In Texas that is Form 01-339, signed by the purchasing entity. Send it before you subscribe if you can, so the first invoice is already right; if tax was charged before it reached us, we credit it back.

5. Who you are buying from

ChemLevel is operated by Henry Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as ChemLevel, of 5900 Balcones Drive STE 100, Austin, TX 78731. That is the party named in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

6. Security, in brief

The Security page is the full account, including what is not in place yet. The short version:

• Each organization’s data is kept apart by the database itself. Row-level security is on every table, so another utility cannot see yours, whatever the app does.
• Where it runs. The database is in AWS us-east-1, Northern Virginia, and the application is served from Cleveland, Ohio. Both are in the United States. Data is encrypted at rest and over TLS on every connection, and backed up daily, with backups kept for seven days.
• Who can get in. Two-factor sign-in is available to every user; passwords are at least twelve characters and checked against known breaches. Both the app and this website refuse connections from outside the United States.
• Who can do what. Supervisors hold the plant, administrators hold the account, and neither is senior to the other, so an IT department can run the account without the chemical configuration. People can be limited to particular plants, and costs are a permission of their own.
• A record of changes. Inserts, updates and deletes are recorded with the person, the time, and the values before and after, readable only by your own members.
• What it does not have yet. There is no SOC 2 report and no third-party penetration test, and no escrow or continuity arrangement. If your process requires an attestation, ChemLevel does not currently meet it. No service level agreement applies unless one has been signed with your organization (Terms, section 14).
• Incidents. Affected utilities are told within 24 hours of an incident involving their data being confirmed. Security questions go to security@chemlevel.com, where a fuller brief is available to utilities evaluating ChemLevel.

Forwarding this to a reviewer outside the US? This site and the app refuse connections from outside the United States, so they will not be able to open these pages or the links on them. Send them this page as a PDF, or ask us at security@chemlevel.com to send them the detail directly.

7. Services it relies on

• Supabase — the database and sign-in. Holds the plant’s data.
• Vercel — serves the web app. Holds no plant data.
• Stripe — subscription billing. Card details never reach ChemLevel.
• Sentry — crash reports, with identifying data removed.
• Resend — account and billing email only, not supplier orders.
• Cloudflare — the check that tells a person from a script, on the sign-in, account creation and password-reset screens.
• Formspree — this website’s contact form. Not connected to the app.

8. Getting data out, and leaving

• Export, without asking us. Settings → Data → Export all data returns everything on file for the organization as one file, stamped with who exported it and when.
• If you cancel, the records stay intact for thirty days and come back if you resubscribe; after that they are permanently deleted.
• Leaving, deleting and closing are three different things, and Delete your account says which is which.
